Included below are some shots from our Feb 12, 2006 reading,
featuring poet, Evelyn Voigt, and accompanying musician Rene Gely.
There’s something magical about the spoken word
when coupled with music,
whether it be flute, saxophone, or more commonly, folk guitar.
Voigt is well known for such performances,
and she and Rene had no problem pleasing the audience from start to
finish.
As luck would have it, Ottawa Citizen
reporter, Linda Mondoux,
was also on hand to give an account of Sasquatch readings in general,
and its philosophy of openness toward writers and audience,
no matter their background, as conveyed to her by Chair, Juan O’Neill.
Sadly, Juan passed away the week after the article went to press.

Sasquatch Board members John and Susan Woodsworth,
responsible for the colourful promo posters that regularly adorn our
home page,
pose for Don Loper's digital camera:

Although Don and his wife, Julie, moved to the west coast a few years
ago,
we were fortunate to have them visit with us in Ottawa that week,
and we were tickled pink to have them participate with us again at
this particular reading.
Here's a shot of Julie (on the right),
with poet, and long time friend of Sasquatch, Sylvia Adams (on the
left).
Parting photo;
great shot of Sasquatch regular, Sharon Liu,
and our new Chair/booking officer, Lynne Alsford,
clapping in response to a reader,
giving an easy indication as to what Sasquatch is all about:
